Mounting a suppressor on the BinTac M50

The M50 is known for two things: Raw power and an a lot noise!
Of course, this makes every shot a thrill! But without hearing protection, neither your ears nor your neighbors will be happy about this.
A silencer is the obvious solution. However, since the barrel is shorter than the air tube, there’s no room for a silencer.
Luckily, there’s a solution for this: the PGG Moderator adapter!
Mounting the adapter
In principle, this product speaks for itself. However, since the M50 is now equipped with a new muzzle brake, you’ll need to remove the air bottle from the rifle.
It’s a simple task, but if it’s your first time, a brief explanation is helpful.
Let’s go through the steps quickly:
1: Work safely
Check that there is no projectile in the barrel and work in a spacious area so you don't lose any parts.
When working on a pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle, always first release the pressure from the system. We’ll do this in step 2.
2: Depressurizing the M50
Let’s start by working safely by releasing the pressure from the bottle.
-
Cock the M50 and set the rifle to “Safe.”
The hammer must not rest against the valve while the pressure decreases, as this could cause it to open unexpectedly. -
Use a wrench to unscrew the pressure gauge until you hear a hissing sound.
-
Wait for the hissing to stop, then continue unscrewing the gauge. If the hissing starts again, pause for a moment.
Once the rifle is fully depressurized and the pressure gauge is removed, we can safely proceed to step 3.
3: Removing the bottle
Now that the pressure has been released, you can loosen the two Allen screws (4mm and 2.5mm) on the bottom of the rifle.
After that, you can either rotate the bottle out of the way or completely remove it from the rifle.
This gives us enough workspace to proceed to step 4.
4: Removing the muzzle break
Now we can unscrew the muzzle brake.
If it’s too tight, try loosening the set screw a bit first or use a piece of plastic or wood through the brake for extra leverage.
Next, we also remove the set screw on the barrel. This set screw is used to time the muzzle brake properly, but for the suppressor, we won’t need it.
5: Placing the adapter
Now screw the PGG M50 suppressor adapter onto the barrel. This can be tightened firmly.
Using threadlocker is optional. If you do choose to use it, a small amount is sufficient.
6: Put everything back together
Reinsert the bottle into the rifle, don’t forget the two locking screws, and screw the pressure gauge back in place.
Tip: Apply a bit of silicone grease to the O-rings before refitting them.
Now you can refill the rifle and install a suitable suppressor, such as the Great Kami from DonnyFL.
