We developed this compact tool to remove the regulator pin without causing damage.

Work with both the full delrin piston and the newer brass piston.

When is this useful?

If you want to replace the regulator piston, you can simply pull it out with pliers. In that case, damage does not really matter.
(And if it’s an older one, you probably won’t get it out without pliers anyway.)

However, if you have a new pin and only want to replace the O-ring or adjust the order of the Belleville washers, you’ll want to remove it without damaging it.
That’s exactly what this tool is designed for.

How to use the Piston Removal Tool

Using it is very simple:

1. Separate the two parts of the tool.

2. Press the inner part with the two clamping tabs over the piston.

3. Firmly press on the outer part. This tightly clamps the tabs around the piston.

4. Pull on the inner part to remove the piston.

This method also keeps the Belleville washers on the pin, so you won’t lose their order.
